One of the most frequently asked questions about artistic practice is: how long takes to paint a picture? The exhibition is an attempt to clarify this issue, because the answer is not simple.

Each work usually is preceded by a process of thought, sometimes stored in the form of sketches or even text notes, although the word is not the primary tool for an artist. Sketches may arise before addressing the creation of proper work, but also in the course . The exhibition presents selected documentation accompanying the formation of several images. In some cases, the idea of work was carried out almost exactly as set out in the preparatory sketches. In other works can be seen multiple changes during image formation. This is because the artistic suggests new solutions that seem more attractive or accurate at any given time, than the original idea. Keep in mind that
for feature of creators and art is considered to be the discovery of new areas, because the artist is usually willing to take the risk of cancellation of the original idea and follow the new trail. Sometimes, however, the effect is not very satisfactory. It remains, therefore, a further search for the right solution - within the same work or the next. So often arise cycles - the result of the exploration of the problem of painting and thematic one.

In summary, we can conclude that there is no unique and unambiguous answer to the question posed in the introduction. Artistic creation is a very personal and individual PROCESS, held in each other, " tailored made" time and rhythm.
