NOBODY PAINTS LIKE THIS ANY MORE

The life of my family in the interwar period, exploration of documents and photographs from that period, intrigued me a lot, leading me to know or determine the facts and the character of various people. Unexpectedly, my search combined with the current commemoration of that same period.

Around the presented set of works, there is the great history, and there are “histories” – or stories. They influenced artistic decisions, so I decided to describe a few of them with words. The exhibition consists of paintings, videos, original documentation and anecdotal authorial commentary. As a painter, I am looking for the right impulse to initiate the process of creating an image. However, in my painting I am most interested in its painterly plane, the result of my artistic decisions. Hence the title of the exhibition.
